Ford Year: 2005. UK/Ireland Location: Yorkshire. Posted October 8, 2020. 2005 MK2 Focus 1.8 TDCi, 175K miles and other than replacing the MTX-75 gearbox (with a cheap 2nd hand unit) it's still on it's original expensive bits e.g. clutch, DMF, injectors, high pressure fuel pump and turbo.
If it works, don't mend it. This sturdy Zetec engine cambelt was designed back in the 90s to last the life of the car. Our family Focus 1.6 is 20yrs old this year;nearly 150,000 miles. We changed the belt on our Mk1 Focus 1.8 at 100,000 miles as recommended by Ford, did the water pump and pulley's at the same time.
I've decided to give up lurking and start posting as I have a bit of an issue with my Focus 1.6 TDCI. 109. The car is a 08 plate, one of the few facelifts on the 08 plate. The engine has done around 170k and been with me for six years. The engine has had a replacement turbo prior to my ownership along with the new type feed pipe.

Posted September 18, 2016. Hi Guys, My first time posting. I have a 2009 focus zetec 1.6 tdci diesel with 113K miles on the clock. I bought this car in April with 110k miles. Today I was out on a road trip and after driving about 100 miles I was switching to the outside lane on the motorway and the power just cut completely in the car.
Mine was serviced by the book, every 12k on ford, and at 180k miles the valvetrain failed, and now im looking for replacement engine (ironicly the 180k is the last possible stamp you can put on the service record book, so guess according to ford then the car is done :P ). my mondeo did 280k miles whit 5k oilchange interval, and it worked like a
